WHAT ARE NEUROTOXINS/WRINKLE RELAXERS?
Neurotoxins such as BOTOX, Dysport & Xeomin are used to reduce fine lines and relax wrinkles on the forehead and upper face. These wrinkle relaxers are a purified strain of type A botulinum toxin that temporarily freezes the mobility of the underlying tissue and muscle. To reduce the appearance of these static lines and wrinkles, the selected neurotoxin is carefully injected to relax and soften the skin. This specific injection is most commonly administered between the brows, around the eyes, and the forehead.

ARE NEUROTOXINS RIGHT FOR ME?
Neurotoxin injections such as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are performed for patients who want to diminish or prevent the visible look of dynamic wrinkles, lines, on their forehead and around their eyes. Neurotoxins are considered an effective preventive anti-aging treatment even if you do not yet have static wrinkles. This non-invasive solution is ideal for those who have obvious forehead wrinkles or frown lines between the brows. It can also be a solution for crow's feet around the eyes. If you experience more severe and deeper lines, a combination of neurotoxin and a filler may be a better option.
BOTOX, Dysport and Xeomin injectable treatments are completed as a procedure right here in our office. If it's your first time to visit us to receive treatment, we may perform the treatment within the same day as your initial consultation with our MD. You will be asked to make various expressions using your upper face, like frowning, squinting, smiling, etc., to help us mark the injection sites. Your face will be prepared, and BOTOX will be injected under your skin using a fine needle. This will be followed with the application of a cool compress in order to decrease discomfort, swelling, and bruising. In some circumstances, we may also administer a numbing cream to make the procedure more comfortable. However, this is typically not necessary. Treatments only take about 10 – 15 minutes to perform, after which you may return to your daily schedule almost right away. -
How Long After A NEUROTOXIN Can I return To Work?
Following the injection, you will be allowed to return to your typical routine, although strenuous activities, such as exercise, should be postponed for a minimum of 24 hours. You will be advised to stay upright for at least 4 hours, avoid tight fighting hats and to avoid touching your face, which could potentially spread the toxin to undesired areas. The injection sites on your face can become bruised, red, or swollen for a couple of days, but you should not have any severe or lasting side effects. In the majority of cases, it takes about two weeks before the results of your toxins become fully visible. Your results will generally last 3 – 4 months. We highly recommend scheduling regular maintenance appointments to touch-up your results.

What's the difference between wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers?
Injectable wrinkle relaxers, also known as toxins and injectable dermal fillers are both products that improve the appearance of wrinkles and correct fine lines. Neurotoxins work by relaxing overused muscles in your face that create dynamic wrinkles, including frown lines, crow's feet, smile lines, and forehead wrinkles. Dermal fillers increase volume below the skin to correct depressions and improve fine lines throughout your face. Based on your goals, our skilled team may suggest neurotoxins, fillers, or a combination of both
